How do I find a job that only involves infographics?!

I heart this man

Big news for online type

VERY big news indeed.

New release of CSS includes the @font-face tag. Enabling designers to finally employ as many fonts as they want. Just as long as the licensing issues get worked out…

hear this all the time, but interesting read none-the-less. I’m turning 27 today, and already having ‘not the same as it used to be’ moments… ouch.

Sydney fare

I was just checking out the blog of design studio Toko and found their impressive poster for the Lyrics and Type exhibition in Melbourne. Really nice stuff – they’ve split the type and add a shadow, but seemed to have distressed it using their own texture. Doing so has really lifted the idea up to something special. I think I’m going to start designing my own posters and getting them printed up. Had to get some individual posters printed up for college recently and it’s really not that expensive.

Designer needs

Now that I’m coming close to graduating, am I allowed to start spending silly amounts of money on sketch books, pens, cases, bags etc etc etc??

Information is king

Well, I stole this from the college blog, but it’s all just so nice I had to feature it.

Seems this David McCandless fella is a bit of a renaissance man. Writing for some top publications, and doing this info-graphics shizzle on the site. Bastard.

Yes Studio

These guys recently completed the art direction of the EXCELLENT Warp 20 box set (scroll down). They have an abundance of great work on their portfolio, but I’m taken by the Mark Wallinger book design. I’m not a huge fan of the artist, but I’m a sucker for dots…

Pentagram sutblety

Pentagram recently produced the collateral for Anish Kapoor’s major solo exhibition at the RA in London. It’s making me miss London very much.

They let the work speak, with some beautifully treated type, and not much more.

my secret obsession

I have to admit something, I’m in love with someone who isn’t my wife. don’t tell, but… it’s Ghostly.

I can’t stop looking at their site, admiring their album artwork, their logo, their very being…
